A personal licence is a one-time purchase. It permanently unlocks the major release of Watch Vault Archive you buy, including every feature update, improvement, maintenance release and fix delivered within that release.
A future major release may be offered as a separate purchase. Upgrading is entirely optional. The Watch Vault Archive you already own remains yours to use, with no subscription, renewal or expiration.
No subscription. No cloud. Nothing that expires, nothing to renew, and nothing that stops working if this company does — because the software does not depend on anything we run.
Your purchase is handled through the Apple or Microsoft account you already use with the store. Watch Vault Archive has credentials of its own: you choose a passphrase and create a recovery key when you set up your archive.
Those credentials protect the archive on your computer. They are not sent to Aveneg Technologies, Apple or Microsoft, and they do not create a cloud account or hosted profile with us.

Before you buy
The software is complete before you pay for it.
There is one Watch Vault Archive. Not a limited edition and a full edition — one application, with every feature working from first launch. What a licence changes is one thing: whether it will add new watches after the first thirty days.
Everything, with no limit on watches.
From the first watch you enter, the whole application is there for thirty days: the encryption and the recovery key, provenance, service history, valuations, your own written reflections, attached invoices and appraisals, watch folios, collection folios and legacy documents. Nothing is watermarked, nothing is greyed out, and there is no cap on how many watches you add. Put your whole collection in, however large it is.
One thing. Nothing else.
A licence lets you keep adding watches after the first thirty days. It does not unlock a feature, improve a document or lift a watermark, because there is no second version of the software for it to unlock. Everything a licensed archive can do, the application already did during those days.
Adding needs a licence. Nothing else does.
Adding a new watch after the first thirty days requires a licence. Opening and unlocking your collection, browsing, searching, editing and deleting the records you already have, every document it generates, and every export and backup keep working, permanently, with or without a licence. Nothing you have entered is removed or made unreadable.
An heir is not a customer.
Whatever a licence covers, it will never cover opening a collection. Restoring an encrypted backup — on a different computer, years from now, by someone who bought nothing — is not something we will ever charge for. The limit applies to adding watches, never to reading what is already recorded. Somebody settling an estate should not meet a payment screen while they are doing it.
Apple and Microsoft are the seller of record for your purchase and handle sales tax and VAT in your jurisdiction. Their receipt is your proof of purchase.
Buying is the one moment anything about you touches a third party, and it is the store rather than us. Apple or Microsoft collects what it needs to complete the sale and comply with tax law, under its own privacy policy. Aveneg Technologies, LLC receives sales reporting from the store and does not receive or store your payment details.
Your collection stays entirely separate from your transaction. The store handles payment and keeps the record that you own the application; what you write into the archive is no part of that. It is not uploaded, not synced, and not visible to us, to Apple or to Microsoft — the application never sends it anywhere. The only copies that leave your computer are files you choose to make, such as a backup or a printed schedule. See the privacy policy.
A personal licence does not cover use inside a dealership, auction house or other business, or bundling with a product or service. Commercial and multi-seat licensing is a separate conversation — legal@watchvaultarchive.com.
What a licence is — and what it is not
Watch Vault Archive is proprietary software, licensed rather than sold. A personal licence permits you to install and use the application on computers you own or control, for your own collection. It does not transfer ownership of the software, and it does not grant any right to redistribute, resell or sublicense it. Third-party open-source components used within the application are credited at open-source attributions.
