This is an example. The Meridian GMT is a fictional watch from the Watch Vault Archive sample collection, used to show what a Brand Reference page looks like. Its specifications and timing record are invented.
The case
Titanium, worn the way steel never is.
Thirty-nine and a half millimetres of grade 5 titanium, brushed, with polished chamfers catching the light at every edge. The head weighs 78 grams. On the wrist it disappears; under a loupe it does not.
Hardened to 340 Vickers, so the brushing keeps its line. A fixed titanium bezel with a coin edge and a sixty-minute scale, flat sapphire coated on both sides, a screw-down crown, and 150 metres of water resistance.
The movement
Built for the long way round.
Calibre AV-330, automatic and made in-house: a second time zone, the day and the date, and 56 hours of power reserve beating at 4 Hz. Certified as a chronometer by the COSC.
Through the sapphire case back you can watch twenty-five jewels at work. Rated to resist magnetism to 4,800 A/m, because the modern world is full of it.
The record
What two years on the wrist showed.
A specification says what a watch should do. A record says what one did. This example was put on a timegrapher six times in two years, at the same independent watchmaker, on the same machine.
It ran fourteen seconds a day fast from new. Regulated five weeks later, it read two. For a year and a half it held within a few seconds either way. Amplitude came down about ten degrees a year, nothing sudden, until the latest reading of 235° showed the trend its service interval exists for. It passed a dry pressure test to 150 metres along the way.
